"Please stop increasing the prices so often by such large amounts. I have effectively watched the price almost double what it was a couple years ago. It is now almost the price of a regular blepharoplasty in an actual hospital with general anaesthesia, equipment and nurses. I have been saving for a procedure with Dr Peter Kim and every time I save enough, I check his website again, the price has increased by $500 which is absurd for a single price increase on something meant to be affordable. I have seen this happen 3-4 times in just a couple years. At this point, I am considering just paying a tiny amount extra and have the procedure done under anaesthesia and have the peace of mind knowing if anything goes wrong I am in a hospital. I understand a price increase is fair due to rising cost of living.... but an extra $500-$1000 every year added to the total cost is insane and off-putting as a patient and seems greedy."

"I cannot recommend Dr Peter Kim highly enough. From my very first consultation, he made me feel completely at ease with his professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail. I had a stretched ear lobe piercing that I had become quite self-conscious about, and he took the time to thoroughly explain the procedure, set realistic expectations, and answer all of my questions. The surgery itself was smooth and virtually stress-free, and the care I received throughout the entire process was exceptional. Dr Kim’s skill and precision are truly impressive—the final result is absolutely amazing. My ear lobe looks natural and beautifully restored, far exceeding what I had hoped for. His follow-up care was just as outstanding, ensuring everything healed perfectly and that I was comfortable every step of the way. If you are considering any kind of corrective procedure, I would wholeheartedly trust Dr Peter Kim. His expertise, kindness, and dedication to his patients are second to none."

About this listing

Dr Peter Kim Surgery - Blepharoplasty, Cosmetic, Skin Cancer & Laser Clinic in Chatswood, Sydney

Dr Peter Kim Surgery - Blepharoplasty, Cosmetic, Skin Cancer & Laser Clinic is a non-surgical practice in Chatswood, a suburb of Sydney in NSW. Non-surgical cosmetic clinics provide procedures such as injectables, energy-based devices, peels and skin treatments. These services are governed by AHPRA advertising guidelines and the relevant scope-of-practice rules for the treating practitioner.

All information on this page — including contact details, opening hours, and any photos — is sourced from publicly available business directory data and the practice's own published material. This profile has not yet been independently verified by our editorial team. If you are the practice owner, you can claim the listing to confirm details and update copy. Always confirm a treating practitioner's registration directly on the AHPRA register before booking — the public register is the authoritative source for current registration status, specialist endorsements, and any conditions, undertakings or restrictions on practice.

Sydney is one of the larger cosmetic-care markets in NSW, with practices ranging from Specialist Plastic Surgeons (FRACS) operating in licensed day-hospitals through to non-surgical clinics in suburban shopfronts. When comparing practices, consider where surgery is actually performed, whether the anaesthetist is a Specialist Anaesthetist (FANZCA) where applicable, and what the clinic's written revision policy looks like. Quotes should cover the full pathway — consultation, surgical fee, anaesthetist fee, hospital fee, garments and standard follow-up — rather than a single headline figure.

Non-surgical cosmetic procedures — injectables, laser and energy-based devices, peels and skin treatments — must still be carried out by an appropriately registered practitioner working within their scope of practice. Schedule 4 prescription products (which include most cosmetic injectables) require a consultation with a doctor or nurse practitioner and an individual prescription for that patient. Reasonable practices document the practitioner providing the prescription, the practitioner administering the treatment, and the dose given.

Questions to ask before you book

  • Who is the treating practitioner, and what is their AHPRA registration number?
  • Which procedures does the practice perform on-site versus referring out?
  • For prescription products, who provides the prescription and who administers the treatment?
  • What is the protocol if you have an adverse event after a treatment?
  • What follow-up is included in the quoted price?
  • What does the full quote include — consultation, treatment, follow-up, and any garments or aftercare products?
  • Are you given written information to take home before consenting to a procedure?

How to verify any cosmetic surgeon on AHPRA

AHPRA registration is the baseline credential check for any cosmetic procedure in Australia. The five steps below take roughly two minutes and are the single most important due-diligence step before paying a deposit.

  1. 1

    Open the AHPRA register

AHPRA publishes a free public register of every registered medical practitioner in Australia. Open the official register — never rely on a third-party "verification" site.

  2. 2

Search by name and "Medical Practitioner"

Search by the practitioner's full name and select Profession: Medical Practitioner. The register returns active registrations only — if the name does not appear, do not proceed.

  3. 3

Confirm the specialty (or its absence)

Look at the "Specialty" field. A FRACS specialist plastic surgeon will list "Specialist Surgery — Plastic Surgery". Anyone who calls themselves a "cosmetic surgeon" without a recognised specialty is a general medical practitioner under AHPRA — that is a meaningful difference for surgical work.

  4. 4

Check for conditions, undertakings, or restrictions

The register flags any conditions on a practitioner's registration, including AHPRA undertakings or restrictions. Treat any flag as a reason to ask the practitioner directly what it relates to before booking.

  5. 5

    Verify hospital privileges separately

Hospital privileges are issued by the hospital, not AHPRA. For surgical procedures, ask which accredited hospital or licensed day-procedure centre the operation will take place in, and verify the surgeon has admitting rights there.
