Editorial policy

This page explains how we research and write editorial content, how we maintain independence from the clinics we list, and what we do when we get something wrong.

Independence

Editorial content — our guides, procedure pages, and city hubs — is written by our editorial team independently of any commercial listing. A Premium listing does not buy favourable coverage, inclusion in a guide, or a quote. No clinic, surgeon, or product supplier reviews editorial drafts before publication.

We don't run display ads or affiliate links inside editorial content. Our only revenue stream is flat-fee Premium listings — see our For clinics page for details.

AHPRA compliance

We follow the AHPRA Advertising Cosmetic Surgery Guidelines (July 2023) . In practice this means:

• No patient testimonials or reviews on surgical procedure pages or surgical clinic profile pages.
• No before/after imagery for surgical procedures.
• No urgency, scarcity, or discount language ("limited time", "save $X") for surgical procedures.
• Clear disclosure that surgery carries risk and that outcomes vary by patient.
• Plain-language explanation of the difference between a specialist plastic surgeon (FRACS) and a medical practitioner performing cosmetic procedures.

Sources

Clinic and practitioner records are seeded from publicly-available business directory data and the AHPRA Register of practitioners . Price ranges in our guides draw on published fee schedules from Australian specialist societies, clinic websites, and Medicare Benefits Schedule item notes where applicable. We note the publication date of every guide and review each guide at least annually.

Verification

An "Unverified" badge on a clinic profile means we have not yet confirmed the listing's AHPRA registration details. A "Verified" badge means an editor has independently cross-referenced the clinic and its named practitioners against the current AHPRA register and the clinic has confirmed the published information.

Corrections

If you believe something we've published is inaccurate, please email editorial@cosmeticsurgeryclinics.com.au with the page URL and a short description of the issue. We aim to acknowledge correction requests within 2 business days. Substantive corrections are noted at the bottom of the affected page with the date of change.
