"What concerns me the most is safety. I have visible metal braces, and after contacting the DEKA Onda company directly, I was informed that the treatment is not safe for clients with braces due to the risk of burns. This was never mentioned by the owner nor the beauty therapist, and I was not advised against proceeding. My experience left me questioning both the transparency and safety standards of this clinic. I genuinely wanted to try Mintskin, but based on this experience, I do not feel confident in their honesty or clinical judgment. Here’s what happened in detail: I walked past Mintskin on my way to work and decided to go in for a consultation, as I was interested in Onda treatment for entire face. The owner mentioned a promotion of $399 for two sessions, which sounded reasonable, so I paid a $200 deposit (which already felt unusually high compared to other clinics that typically require around 10%). However, when I arrived for my appointment at the CBD clinic, I was told that the $399 actually only covers one session, and that my face would be divided into three separate areas (jawline, cheeks, chin). The promotion would only cover two of these areas, meaning additional costs if I wanted full treatment. This was not clearly explained during the consultation with the owner. I was also told by the owner that the first session would be done at “standard energy” and the second session would increase intensity, and that the procedure would be performed by a beauty therapist. This raised concerns for me, as I’ve had Onda treatments done multiple times in South Korea by doctors and nurses, where energy levels were always tailored to the individual and the face was not treated as separately charged sections. Due to these inconsistencies, I decided not to proceed and requested a refund. I was told the owner would process it directly back to my account, but it has now been a week and I have not received anything. I’m glad that I didn’t get the procedure at Mintskin. Will have to raise a dispute with my bank to get deposit back also."

About this listing
MintSkin(CBD) in Melbourne, Melbourne
MintSkin(CBD) is a non-surgical practice in Melbourne, a suburb of Melbourne in VIC. Non-surgical cosmetic clinics provide procedures such as injectables, energy-based devices, peels and skin treatments. These services are governed by AHPRA advertising guidelines and the relevant scope-of-practice rules for the treating practitioner.
All information on this page — including contact details, opening hours, and any photos — is sourced from publicly available business directory data and the practice's own published material. This profile has not yet been independently verified by our editorial team. If you are the practice owner, you can claim the listing to confirm details and update copy. Always confirm a treating practitioner's registration directly on the AHPRA register before booking — the public register is the authoritative source for current registration status, specialist endorsements, and any conditions, undertakings or restrictions on practice.
Melbourne is one of the larger cosmetic-care markets in VIC, with practices ranging from Specialist Plastic Surgeons (FRACS) operating in licensed day-hospitals through to non-surgical clinics in suburban shopfronts. When comparing practices, consider where surgery is actually performed, whether the anaesthetist is a Specialist Anaesthetist (FANZCA) where applicable, and what the clinic's written revision policy looks like. Quotes should cover the full pathway — consultation, surgical fee, anaesthetist fee, hospital fee, garments and standard follow-up — rather than a single headline figure.
Non-surgical cosmetic procedures — injectables, laser and energy-based devices, peels and skin treatments — must still be carried out by an appropriately registered practitioner working within their scope of practice. Schedule 4 prescription products (which include most cosmetic injectables) require a consultation with a doctor or nurse practitioner and an individual prescription for that patient. Reasonable practices document the practitioner providing the prescription, the practitioner administering the treatment, and the dose given.
Questions to ask before you book
- Who is the treating practitioner, and what is their AHPRA registration number?
- Which procedures does the practice perform on-site versus referring out?
- For prescription products, who provides the prescription and who administers the treatment?
- What is the protocol if you have an adverse event after a treatment?
- What follow-up is included in the quoted price?
- What does the full quote include — consultation, treatment, follow-up, and any garments or aftercare products?
- Are you given written information to take home before consenting to a procedure?
