"I’m very disappointed with my experience. I have been trying to book an appointment with Dr Khan for the past three months, but the process has been extremely frustrating. The staff, including his wife Sabeen and the reception team, have been quite unprofessional and unhelpful throughout. On one occasion, my appointment was scheduled after multiple attempts, only to be cancelled a few days later without proper explanation, saying that the doctor is no longer taking new patients. This could have been communicated clearly from the beginning, which would have saved a lot of time and inconvenience. I believe that clear communication and basic professionalism are essential in healthcare settings. If new patients are not being accepted, this should be made transparent to avoid unnecessary back-and-forth. Overall, the experience felt disorganised and discourteous. I hope the clinic improves its communication and patient handling in the future."

"Sabeen was amazing during my laser treatment! She made me feel super comfortable and explained everything really well. The whole experience was so easy and relaxing, and I left feeling so much more confident about my skin. Definitely recommend seeing her!"

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It was my first time seeing Dr. Khan and Sabeen for Botox and laser treatment, and they made me feel so welcomed and comfortable right from the start. Both were incredibly knowledgeable and explained everything clearly. I’m really happy with my experience and can’t wait to return for my upcoming laser sessions. Highly recommend this Sydney Clinic!"

About this listing

Shire Aesthetics and Vein Clinic in Miranda, Wollongong

Shire Aesthetics and Vein Clinic is a non-surgical practice in Miranda, a suburb of Wollongong in NSW. Non-surgical cosmetic clinics provide procedures such as injectables, energy-based devices, peels and skin treatments. These services are governed by AHPRA advertising guidelines and the relevant scope-of-practice rules for the treating practitioner.

All information on this page β€” including contact details, opening hours, and any photos β€” is sourced from publicly available business directory data and the practice's own published material. This profile has not yet been independently verified by our editorial team. If you are the practice owner, you can claim the listing to confirm details and update copy. Always confirm a treating practitioner's registration directly on the AHPRA register before booking β€” the public register is the authoritative source for current registration status, specialist endorsements, and any conditions, undertakings or restrictions on practice.

Wollongong is one of the larger cosmetic-care markets in NSW, with practices ranging from Specialist Plastic Surgeons (FRACS) operating in licensed day-hospitals through to non-surgical clinics in suburban shopfronts. When comparing practices, consider where surgery is actually performed, whether the anaesthetist is a Specialist Anaesthetist (FANZCA) where applicable, and what the clinic's written revision policy looks like. Quotes should cover the full pathway β€” consultation, surgical fee, anaesthetist fee, hospital fee, garments and standard follow-up β€” rather than a single headline figure.

Non-surgical cosmetic procedures β€” injectables, laser and energy-based devices, peels and skin treatments β€” must still be carried out by an appropriately registered practitioner working within their scope of practice. Schedule 4 prescription products (which include most cosmetic injectables) require a consultation with a doctor or nurse practitioner and an individual prescription for that patient. Reasonable practices document the practitioner providing the prescription, the practitioner administering the treatment, and the dose given.

Questions to ask before you book

  • Who is the treating practitioner, and what is their AHPRA registration number?
  • Which procedures does the practice perform on-site versus referring out?
  • For prescription products, who provides the prescription and who administers the treatment?
  • What is the protocol if you have an adverse event after a treatment?
  • What follow-up is included in the quoted price?
  • What does the full quote include β€” consultation, treatment, follow-up, and any garments or aftercare products?
  • Are you given written information to take home before consenting to a procedure?

How to verify any cosmetic surgeon on AHPRA

AHPRA registration is the baseline credential check for any cosmetic procedure in Australia. The five steps below take roughly two minutes and are the single most important due-diligence step before paying a deposit.

  1. 1

    Open the AHPRA register

AHPRA publishes a free public register of every registered medical practitioner in Australia. Open the official register β€” never rely on a third-party "verification" site.

  2. 2

Search by name and "Medical Practitioner"

Search by the practitioner's full name and select Profession: Medical Practitioner. The register returns active registrations only β€” if the name does not appear, do not proceed.

  3. 3

Confirm the specialty (or its absence)

Look at the "Specialty" field. A FRACS specialist plastic surgeon will list "Specialist Surgery β€” Plastic Surgery". Anyone who calls themselves a "cosmetic surgeon" without a recognised specialty is a general medical practitioner under AHPRA β€” that is a meaningful difference for surgical work.

  4. 4

Check for conditions, undertakings, or restrictions

The register flags any conditions on a practitioner's registration, including AHPRA undertakings or restrictions. Treat any flag as a reason to ask the practitioner directly what it relates to before booking.

  5. 5

    Verify hospital privileges separately

Hospital privileges are issued by the hospital, not AHPRA. For surgical procedures, ask which accredited hospital or licensed day-procedure centre the operation will take place in, and verify the surgeon has admitting rights there.
