  1. Crevette R. ★★★

"Revised review : I originally was disappointed with my visit. I came to consult for a psoriasis issue and I wanted 2 things : I wanted help for enhancing hair regrowth, and I expressed that I strongly did not want a topical treatment for psoriasis (shampoos and creams or anything to put on top of it because I have already tried everything the past 10 years and I know that they don’t work on me) but I came out with nothing else than a shampoo name for psoriasis that I have already tried and doesn’t work, a topical treatment that I was not on bord with and nothing regarding the hair loss for which I came for. I also thought that for 395$ for 15 minutes we shouldn’t be doing small talk for so long especially when avoiding entirely the talk about my hair loss problem for which I came for (I had lost a very big amount of hair the day before). I have also realized at the pharmacy that the product I was supposed to use is a one time - expires in 30days product. So I felt like they mostly wanted me to come back and felt not heard. I came out of there a few minutes later and cried helplessly in the street, desperate that I have used so much money for this unhelpful visit and zero hope for my hair. Now after seeing my review and acknowledging how upset I was about not being heard regarding my hair loss issue, they called me back to talk about it. So I went and we talked. I did feel more heard and I understand the importance of diminishing my intense inflammation before doing something for hair loss. I received another prescription for something to help with the inflammation. I also understand that I will shortly receive a plan regarding what we can do moving forward. As for now I still just have just a shampoo referral for the hair loss, to use only when the inflammation goes down, whereas I was hoping for a more intense solution and laid down during the consultation to avoid back and forth extremely costly consultations. But I will wait for the update on the plan. And I guess I will still have to come back to talk about hair loss when/if the inflammation is under control."

"Love this clinic and would highly recommend it. I was also lucky enough to be treated by Dr. Leona Yip herself. Dr. Yip and her staff were all lovely, kind, caring, and attentive from the moment I stepped through the door. Any questions I had were answered without hesitation and communicated kindly—I never felt silly for asking questions, and every response was well-informed and easy to understand. Throughout the process, Dr. Yip carefully explained everything I would feel and consistently checked that I was okay. Her assisting nurse also took excellent care of me. I chose Skin Partners for quality in both treatment and service, and that is exactly what I received."

About this listing

Skin Partners in West End, Brisbane

Skin Partners is a dermatology practice in West End, a suburb of Brisbane in QLD. Dermatology practices that offer cosmetic services are regulated under the same general AHPRA framework and may also offer skin cancer screening, medical dermatology and prescription-only treatments alongside cosmetic procedures.

All information on this page — including contact details, opening hours, and any photos — is sourced from publicly available business directory data and the practice's own published material. This profile has not yet been independently verified by our editorial team. If you are the practice owner, you can claim the listing to confirm details and update copy. Always confirm a treating practitioner's registration directly on the AHPRA register before booking — the public register is the authoritative source for current registration status, specialist endorsements, and any conditions, undertakings or restrictions on practice.

Brisbane is one of the larger cosmetic-care markets in QLD, with practices ranging from Specialist Plastic Surgeons (FRACS) operating in licensed day-hospitals through to non-surgical clinics in suburban shopfronts. When comparing practices, consider where surgery is actually performed, whether the anaesthetist is a Specialist Anaesthetist (FANZCA) where applicable, and what the clinic's written revision policy looks like. Quotes should cover the full pathway — consultation, surgical fee, anaesthetist fee, hospital fee, garments and standard follow-up — rather than a single headline figure.

Specialist Dermatologists complete a minimum of twelve years of medical and surgical training, including a four-year accredited training program overseen by the Australasian College of Dermatologists. The "Specialist Dermatologist" title is protected under AHPRA registration. When a dermatology practice offers cosmetic services alongside medical dermatology, the same specialist standards apply.

Questions to ask before you book

  • Who is the treating practitioner, and what is their AHPRA registration number?
  • Which procedures does the practice perform on-site versus referring out?
  • For prescription products, who provides the prescription and who administers the treatment?
  • What is the protocol if you have an adverse event after a treatment?
  • What follow-up is included in the quoted price?
  • What does the full quote include — consultation, treatment, follow-up, and any garments or aftercare products?
  • Are you given written information to take home before consenting to a procedure?

How to verify any cosmetic surgeon on AHPRA

AHPRA registration is the baseline credential check for any cosmetic procedure in Australia. The five steps below take roughly two minutes and are the single most important due-diligence step before paying a deposit.

  1. 1

    Open the AHPRA register

AHPRA publishes a free public register of every registered medical practitioner in Australia. Open the official register — never rely on a third-party "verification" site.

  2. 2

Search by name and "Medical Practitioner"

Search by the practitioner's full name and select Profession: Medical Practitioner. The register returns active registrations only — if the name does not appear, do not proceed.

  3. 3

Confirm the specialty (or its absence)

Look at the "Specialty" field. A FRACS specialist plastic surgeon will list "Specialist Surgery — Plastic Surgery". Anyone who calls themselves a "cosmetic surgeon" without a recognised specialty is a general medical practitioner under AHPRA — that is a meaningful difference for surgical work.

  4. 4

Check for conditions, undertakings, or restrictions

The register flags any conditions on a practitioner's registration, including AHPRA undertakings or restrictions. Treat any flag as a reason to ask the practitioner directly what it relates to before booking.

  5. 5

    Verify hospital privileges separately

Hospital privileges are issued by the hospital, not AHPRA. For surgical procedures, ask which accredited hospital or licensed day-procedure centre the operation will take place in, and verify the surgeon has admitting rights there.
