"Joke of a place. When you're in actual need of help they won't give you appointments. So typical for here"

"Waste of time and money, to say nothing about the infection and poor treatment I received. I have Chronic Kidney Disease and was about to be given medication that would have made my condition worse. There was no follow up after they did a test on my infected arm. I wouldn’t go back there!!"

"The service and level of care at this place, should see there accreditation be reviewed by the governing bodies. They first booked me in with a Dr on maternity leave, they only realised their error the day before my appointment, after I'd paid a $100 deposit. I then called to reschedule my appointment, only to sit on hold for 20 minutes and have the phone disconnected because there phone lines closed. They don't worry that they have people on hold, they disconnect the calls. I finally got to see a Dr, a short 10 min appointment where I am told my scripts will be sent through. Like most GPS I assumed this was via SMS. After 2 weeks of waiting, I follow up to be told (waiting on hold for 20 mins), to be told that I need a hard copy script and can I come back and collect. I now need to wait and hope they are capable of posting a hard copy script. At the time of following up, they also told me I had an outstanding account from my appointment. The same account I paid on the day. They actually are incapable of running any type of service. I will be ensuring I tell my GP to make no further referrals to this place."

"I made a booking, paid my deposit. The night before my appointment I had a fall and was admitted to hospital for emergency surgery. While I was being operated on my deposit was processed from my account. I enquired as to why "it is policy". Obviously policy without compassion. (NO STAR RATING)"

About this listing
The Skin Hospital in Darlinghurst, Sydney
The Skin Hospital is a dermatology practice in Darlinghurst, a suburb of Sydney in NSW. Dermatology practices that offer cosmetic services are regulated under the same general AHPRA framework and may also offer skin cancer screening, medical dermatology and prescription-only treatments alongside cosmetic procedures.
All information on this page — including contact details, opening hours, and any photos — is sourced from publicly available business directory data and the practice's own published material. This profile has not yet been independently verified by our editorial team. If you are the practice owner, you can claim the listing to confirm details and update copy. Always confirm a treating practitioner's registration directly on the AHPRA register before booking — the public register is the authoritative source for current registration status, specialist endorsements, and any conditions, undertakings or restrictions on practice.
Sydney is one of the larger cosmetic-care markets in NSW, with practices ranging from Specialist Plastic Surgeons (FRACS) operating in licensed day-hospitals through to non-surgical clinics in suburban shopfronts. When comparing practices, consider where surgery is actually performed, whether the anaesthetist is a Specialist Anaesthetist (FANZCA) where applicable, and what the clinic's written revision policy looks like. Quotes should cover the full pathway — consultation, surgical fee, anaesthetist fee, hospital fee, garments and standard follow-up — rather than a single headline figure.
Specialist Dermatologists complete a minimum of twelve years of medical and surgical training, including a four-year accredited training program overseen by the Australasian College of Dermatologists. The "Specialist Dermatologist" title is protected under AHPRA registration. When a dermatology practice offers cosmetic services alongside medical dermatology, the same specialist standards apply.
Questions to ask before you book
- Who is the treating practitioner, and what is their AHPRA registration number?
- Which procedures does the practice perform on-site versus referring out?
- For prescription products, who provides the prescription and who administers the treatment?
- What is the protocol if you have an adverse event after a treatment?
- What follow-up is included in the quoted price?
- What does the full quote include — consultation, treatment, follow-up, and any garments or aftercare products?
- Are you given written information to take home before consenting to a procedure?
