Rhinoplasty cost in Sydney: what to expect in 2026
By Editorial team · Updated 23 April 2026
What does rhinoplasty cost in Sydney?
Rhinoplasty in Sydney typically costs between $12,000 and $25,000 for a primary (first-time) cosmetic rhinoplasty performed by a specialist plastic surgeon (FRACS) in an accredited facility.
Prices vary significantly based on the complexity of the surgery, the surgeon’s experience, and the hospital fees.
What’s included in the quoted price?
A complete rhinoplasty quote should include:
- Surgeon’s fee
- Anaesthetist’s fee
- Hospital / day-surgery facility fee
- All pre-operative consultations
- All post-operative review appointments for 12 months
- Splints, dressings, and standard medications
What about Medicare?
Purely cosmetic rhinoplasty is not rebatable under Medicare. If you have a functional issue — most commonly a deviated septum causing breathing problems — a portion of your surgery may attract a Medicare item number. You will need a referral from your GP to be eligible, and your surgeon will assess whether your case meets the clinical criteria.
Red flags when comparing quotes
Be cautious if a quote seems materially cheaper than the range above. Ask:
- Is the surgeon a specialist plastic surgeon (FRACS), registered with AHPRA?
- Is the procedure taking place in an accredited private hospital or day hospital?
- Does the quote include 12 months of post-operative review?
- What is the policy and cost for revision surgery if needed?
Important: Results vary from person to person. All surgery carries material risk. This guide is general information only and is not medical advice. Always consult a qualified AHPRA-registered medical practitioner before making any decision about surgery.
